January Home Reset
If you are anything like me, after Christmas you are ready for a complete reset of your home. Including a massive house declutter/organization, tackling projects that have been put off, and revamping rhythms and routines. But HOW?
One thing at a time.
1.Sit down with a pen and paper or google keep or whatever you prefer to use to make lists. Make a massive brain dump list. I mean everything that you can think of that you want done/redone/refreshed etc. Write it ALL out. Get it out of your brain and onto paper. [I did a massive brain dump with pen and paper]
2. Go back and sort it into manageable task lists. Maybe you want to do a must do, would like to do, can wait a little while longer set of lists. Maybe you want to break it down by “like” things. Maybe you want to break it down by area/room for your house. [I broke mine down into a room by room project/clean out/declutter list and put that in google keep so I can access it from my computer and my phone to mark things off as I go!]
3. Map out you calendar for January. Look at the lists you made above and see what you can fit in your schedule. Print a January calendar (there are a bunch of free options HERE). Use a pencil and note what you can reasonably manage to do on the dates you have available. [As much as I would love to do ALL of my list in January, I know that it's not realistic so I had to break mine down for January AND February.]
4. Follow through and do manageable tasks everyday!
Happy January friends, and happy home resetting! [I also still LOVE having a good paper planner, I am using THIS ONE this year!]
