November just FLEW by. I feel like it was just Halloween and now it’s December already. I wanted to try to do a recap of our month with some of our favorite things that may help you heading into a new month!
Our oldest turned 5! It is hard to believe. This was a top gift and we would highly recommend it for littles- LITTLE KID CAMERA
Over the summer, I grabbed a DVD player at the thrift store and we recently hooked it up in the basement. The kids have been loving picking out movies from the library to watch. I know, you can find just about everything online for streaming but there is something different about them walking through the rows of movies at the library picking something out to watch- plus there are a lot of older movies/shows available to them. (One like this would work just fine!)
Hosted thanksgiving! This year we ended up staying at home for Thanksgiving and had Zach’s parents come visit for the holiday! It was a really nice long weekend. Zach smoked a turkey. I made twice baked potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry salsa, pumpkin roll, and a dairy free cookie cake with dairy free frosting turkey platter for our dairy free child!
Christmas shopping. For the most part, we got all of our Christmas shopping done in November. It was my goal to get all of that handled before December 1 so that I could spend December really enjoying the season and not feeling in a rush to get presents handled. However, I didn’t get anything wrapped yet. (HERE is the rhythm we use for gifts. HERE for homemade gift ideas. HERE for neighbor/friend gift ideas. HERE for stocking ideas.)
Dollhouse project continues. I have been working for HOURS on refinishing a dollhouse for our daughter. Our sweet neighbors gifted this AMAZING dollhouse to her a few years ago and we feel like she is old enough to help refinish it and use it now. It is a very slow project and a labor of love.
Overall, we aimed to keep November a little bit lighter schedule wise and commitment wise. We stayed at home a lot. It was a lovely month and we are planning to continue that into December.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!
